THE PINNACLE FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES FUND DRIVE TO HELP DESERVING FAMILY
May 2006 — The Pinnacle Foundation, a charitable organization founded in 1995 by homebuilder Pinnacle Companies, has announced that it is spearheading a statewide fundraising campaign to raise money for the Llanes family. Based in Bergenfield, New Jersey, the family is being featured on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and will be the beneficiary of a newly unveiled house this May. Stricken by blindness, deafness and cancer, the family is struggling in their current home—not only as their living environment, but also where the father devotes his time to creating Braille books in the basement through his personal non-profit organization, BookShare. Contributions on behalf of the family can be made to the Pinnacle Foundation at www.extremepinnacle.com.
“In recognition of the misfortune as well as the aspirations of the Llanes family, The Pinnacle Foundation is setting up an educational fund for their children, Gven, Zeb and Carrie. Vic and Maria came to the United States in 1997 to find a better life and we want to help them realize that dream,” commented Brian Stolar, president and chief executive officer of Pinnacle, as well as its founder.
Brian M. Stolar has a fascination for technology and its potential for use in the home. ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition has afforded Pinnacle the opportunity to work with a very special family with some very special needs. Determined not only to build them an extraordinary house, Pinnacle will outfit their home with intelligent systems that will contribute to each family member’s independence and make their lives more fulfilling. Known as a Z Home, Pinnacle is unveiling this new living concept for the first time on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
The Pinnacle Foundation, founded by Pinnacle and chaired by the former Governor of New Jersey, Thomas H. Kean, was formed in 1995 to use its resources for the betterment of community facilities. The foundation has assisted in providing children’s reading rooms in local libraries; it has built senior citizen centers and worked with DARE to improve facilities for an ice hockey rink in Mahwah, New Jersey. The foundation is grateful to Realcomm, Microsoft Systems, The National Federation for the Blind and Edward Ryan of Wafra Investment Advisory Group for their continuous assistance with this program.
Pinnacle, which includes Pinnacle Communities, Pinnacle Custom and Pinnacle Downtown, is among the most respected real estate development and investment companies in the industry. The award-winning company has built an enviable reputation in the sale and rental of luxury, active adult and custom housing, as well as the office, retail and mixed-use markets. Since the company’s founding in 1984, Pinnacle has built in excess of 3,000 luxury attached and detached homes as well as several million square feet of commercial space.
